I am a researcher in the domain of Quality of Experience (QoE) and video quality.

💼 What I do for a living

I investigate how humans perceive multimedia, mostly targeting video streaming applications and web services. As the CEO and founder of AVEQ, I offer expertise and consulting in audiovisual quality coding, streaming, and quality monitoring.

I also make photographs in my free time. You can find a selection on the photos page.

🔬 What I research

I have a Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) from Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. Before, I worked as a researcher there. I was employed at Telekom Innovation Laboratories of Deutsche Telekom AG in Berlin, Germany. I have a diploma in computer science (media informatics) from the University of Vienna. I have published dozens of academic papers with more than 1,400 citations, and I've been granted two patents.
